Agnes M. Williams, a lifelong resident of Melrose, passed into eternal life on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose following an extended illness. She was 91 years old.
Agnes was born in Everett on January 8, 1921, daughter of the late Michael J. Williams and Elizabeth (Costigan) Williams. She grew up in Melrose and attended the Melrose Public School system. Agnes worked for over 20 years as a Assembly Inspector for National Radio in Melrose. Agnes dedicated herself to caring for the priests at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish in Wakefield for many years as their housekeeper.
Agnes is the devoted sister of Margaret Flanagan and her late husband Thomas of Methuen, Andrew C. Williams and his late wife Mary of Melrose, John M. Williams and his wife Bernadette of Melrose and the late Charles Williams and his late wife Catherine, the late Albert Williams and his surviving wife Helen of Melrose and the late Henry Williams and his late wife Ann. She is the loving aunt of many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Agnes's Funeral on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St. Melrose followed by her Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 10 a.m. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. Visiting hours will be on Monday, May 14, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
