Alice E. (Bonnevier) Hurley, a longtime resident of Charlestown and formerly of Malden, entered into eternal life on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She was 77 years of age.
Alice was born in Boston on August 19, 1938, a daughter of the late Joseph F. Bonnevier and Alice E. (Galvin) Bonnevier. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School System. Alice attended Girls Latin and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1956. Alice worked for 20 years as a financial clerk for Mintz Levin Law Firm in Boston, retiring in 2001. Alice loved traveling to Ireland. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Bunker Hill Post #26, the Bunker Hill Monument Association, and the Charlestown Historical Association. Alice enjoyed fundraising for the Bunker Hill Day Parade every year. She was the former Senior Warden and longtime member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Charlestown.
Alice is the beloved wife of 25 years to Arthur L. Hurley. She is the loving mother to Edward P. Nigro Jr. and his wife Perrie Merlin of Lexington, Alison Chenell and her husband Richard of Westford, and David B. Nigro and his wife Maureen of Arlington. She is the loving Grammy to Rachel, Joey, Alexa, Benjamin, and Bobby. She is the beloved sister of Ruth Bonnevier, and the late Grace Yetter, Joseph Bonnevier, and Arthur Bonnevier.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Alice's Funeral on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 9 A.M. from the Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown, followed by her Funeral Service in St. John's Episcopal Church, 27 Devens St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at New Calvary Cemetery in Mattapan. Alice's visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Alice's name to The Arthritis Foundation, 29 Crafts St #450, Newton, MA 02458
