Obituary

Alice E. (Brosnahan) Roche, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Friday October 10, 2008 at the Tobey Hospital in Wareham after brief illness. She was 77 years old.

Alice was born in Boston, she grew up in Charlestown where she attended Boston Public Schools. Most of her life was dedicated to being a caregiver for those in need and to many suffering illnesses.

Alice is the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Roche. She is the devoted mother of Maryann McGonagle and her husband Hugh "Danny" of Wareham. She is the loving grandmother of Danielle Cody and her husband Steven, Michael McGonagle and great-grandmother of Dylan Logan. She is the beloved sister of Eugene Brosnahan and his wife Sue of Charlestown, John Brosnahan and his wife Phyllis of Washington, Mary Heneghan and her husband Richard of Florida. She is the very dear friend of Ann Elwell of Charlestown and Francis Kiehle of Kingston.

Alice's Funeral will be held on Wednesday October 15, 2008 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday October 14, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury.
