Obituary

Anthony B. "Tony" Vitale, a longtime resident of Charlestown and formerly of Dorchester, entered into eternal life suddenly on February 28, 2026 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. He was 69 years of age.

Tony was born in Boston on April 19, 1956, a son of the late Thomas Vitale and Margaret (Haley) Vitale. He grew up in Dorchester where he was educated in the Boston Public School system. He enjoyed learning and playing the guitar and he worked immensely doing mason and tile work with his own business. What he enjoyed and loved most of all is spending quality time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Kyla K. Vitale.

Tony is the beloved husband of the late Linda L. (Carter) Vitale. He is the devoted father of Anthony B. Vitale II and his wife Erica Walsh. He is the loving Papa of Kyla K. Vitale. He is the dear brother of Bobby Vitale, Maryann Lattanzi, Ginger Tatalias, Sonny Vitale, Christine Wallace, and the late Dolly Mahoney, Junior Vitale, and Butch Vitale. He is the brother-in-law of Wayne Carter, Sandra Seeley, and Sue Craghead. He is the loving Uncle Tony to many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Tony's Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 12 P.M. in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will be private. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
