Obituary

Barbara A. (O'Neil) Lillis, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford following an extended illness. She was 73 years old.

Barbara was born in Boston on April 9, 1940, a daughter of the late Edward O'Neil and Margaret V. (Donovan) O'Neil. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School. Barbara worked as a home health aide with the Kennedy Center in Charlestown for several years and as a lunch mother at The Clarence R. Edwards Middle School in Charlestown for 10 years.

Barbara is the beloved wife of the late John J. Lillis. She is the devoted mother of Margaret V. "Meg" Lillis of Charlestown and John P. Lillis of Charlestown. She is the beloved sister of Rita Beaudet of Auburn. She is the loving aunt to 6 nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours for Barbara on Thursday morning, October 31, 2013 from 9 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. Interment is private.
