Obituary

Catherine E. O'Connell, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 98 years of age.

Catherine was born in Boston, a daughter of the late Samuel O'Connell and Mary A. (Hayes) O'Connell. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School. Catherine worked as a Buyer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and retired following 45 years of dedicated service.

Catherine is the beloved daughter of the late Samuel O'Connell and Mary A. (Hayes) O'Connell. She is the devoted sister of the late Rita Feeney, Elizabeth DiMella, Margaret Caron, Gertrude Boesen, Mary O'Connell, Edward O'Connell and John "Skin" O'Connell. She is the loving aunt to her 22 nieces and nephews and their families.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Catherine's Funeral on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 10 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. Her burial is private. Her visiting hours will be on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 2 to 5 P.M. in the funeral home.
