Obituary

Cheryl M. (Marcella) Ferreira, a 30 year resident of Salem, New Hampshire and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Friday, January 3, 2014 at her home in Salem, New Hampshire. She was 65 years old.

Cheryl was born in Boston on October 10, 1948, a daughter of the late Thomas Marcella and Dora (Dionne) Marcella. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1967. Cheryl worked as a clerk at the Market Basket in Salem, New Hampshire for the past 23 years.

Cheryl is the beloved wife of 39 years to Walter J. Ferreira. She is the devoted mother to Dr. Cheryl DiVito and her husband Jon of Rutland, Mass., Walter J. Ferreira and his companion Aliceson Hill of Leominster, and Stephen A. Ferreira and his wife Noelle of Ayer. She is the loving Nanny to Matthew, Kaitlyn, Ethan, Brandon, and Aiden. She is the beloved sister of Judy Smith and her husband Bob of Melrose, and the late Hunnah Aubrey, Robert, and John Marcella. She is the beloved daughter-in-law of Dolly Ferreira of Charlestown. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Cheryl's Funeral on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 10 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
