Obituary

Daniel P. "Danny" O'Neil, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 70 years old.

Danny was born in Boston on March 31, 1945, a son of the late Laurence T. O'Neil and Mary A. (Furlong) O'Neil. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School. Following high school, Danny received his Associates Degree from Bunker Hill Community College. He worked in Public Relations for the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority for several years. Danny was a member of the Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association.

Danny is the devoted father of Kristen Parlon and her Husband William, and Brendan O'Neil and his wife Allison. He is the loving grandfather to Jessica, William, Kyle, Todd, Aydan, and great-grandfather to Stella. He is the beloved brother of Ed O'Neil, Nancy Hannan, Helen O'Neil, Mary O'Neil, Michael O'Neil, and the late Lon O'Neil. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Danny's Funeral on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
