Obituary

Donald E. "Red" Kelsey, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at his home in Charlestown. He was 65 years old.

Red was born in Boston on July 20, 1949, a son of the late Stephen Coleman and Pauline Kelsey. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School System. Red worked for over 20 years for the Boston Housing Authority in its maintenance department. Red was a friend of Bill W.

Red is the devoted father to Donald Kelsey and his wife Maureen of Wilmington, and John Kelsey and his wife Ann Marie of Malden. He is the loving "Papa K" to Gavin and Madison. Red is the beloved brother of Stephen Coleman, Sanda Coleman, Eva Coleman-Hickey, Paula Coleman, and Inell Coleman-Scadding.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Red's visiting hours on Thursday October 9, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. with his Funeral Service at 7 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Burial is private.
