Obituary

Donna M. (Morey) Furman, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at The Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was 81 years of age.

Donna was born in Lowell on July 25, 1941, a daughter of Irene (Duschene) Morey and the late Robert Morey. She grew up in Charlestown and was educated at Sacred Heart Parochial School and also graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Kingston. Donna furthered her education later in her life and received her Associates Degree from Bunker Hill Community College and then went onto Tufts University where she received her Masters Degree in History and also her Para Legal Degree. Donna worked at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston as a Manager for the Physical & Occupational Therapy Department and retired following 30 years of dedicated service. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Society of The North End and was very active and devoted to the association of St. Padre Pio whom she prayed to religiously. Donna enjoyed painting and most of all in her life she cherished the quality times and special moments she was able to share with her 4 children and 4 grandchildren.

Donna is the devoted mother of Laurence Furman and his wife Jill, Lisa Furman, Jonathan Morey and Jennifer Zinzopoulos. She is the loving Nana to Anne, Alexia, Constantino and Molly. She is the beloved daughter of Irene (Duschene) Morey who is 106 years of age and the late Robert Morey. She is the beloved sister of the late Sheila Diskes. She is the dear aunt of Robert Waine, John Waine and Robin Waine.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Donna's Funeral on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 10 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. Her burial is private. Her visiting hours will be on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 4 to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
