Dorothy E. (Fitzpatrick) Pratt, a lifelong resident of Charlestown and resided in Somerville, died on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Cedar Glen Nursing Home in Danvers after a lengthy illness. She was 80 years old.
Dotty was born in Boston and one of 17 children to the late Edward and Helen Fitzpatrick. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended Boston Public Schools. Dotty worked for several years at Filene's Department Store in Boston. She also worked as a Voluntary Aid at The Life Focus Center in Charlestown.
Dotty is the beloved wife of the late Charles H. Pratt. She is the devoted mother of Charles E. Pratt of Charlestown, Boston Police Officer Thomas N. Pratt and his wife Janet of South Boston and the late Michael J. Pratt. She is the beloved sister of Marion Hughes of Malden, Robert Fitzpatrick of Charlestown, Betty Gorsuch of Medford, Anne Lovenberg of New Jersey, Joseph Fitzpatrick of Charlestown the late Helen Geno, William, Edward, Jack, Warren, Gerald, Francis and Paul Fitzpatrick. She is the loving aunt of Ruthann Hoffman and many other nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dotty's Funeral on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, September 16, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m.
