Dorothy M. "Dot" (Hall) Pavia-Molignano, a lifelong resident of Charlestown and 30 year resident of Pompano Beach, Florida, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at her home in Charlestown following a lengthy illness. She was 86 years old.
Dot was born in Boston on November 14, 1927, a daughter of the late James Hall and Cecilia (Hart) Hall. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1945. Dot worked at Schrafft's Candy Company in Charlestown for over 25 years. She first worked as a 2 cent peppermint girl on the conveyer belt and later in the quality control labs. Dot was told that she would learn to dislike chocolate but loved it until the end. Dot loved reading, watching movies, and shopping on Saturdays with her longtime friend and neighbor the late Edna Kelly. She enjoyed wintering in Pompano Beach, Florida and spending time at Webster Lake in New Hampshire.
Dot is the loving wife of the late Alamanto J. "Al" "Moe" Molignano. She is the devoted mother to Diana White and her husband Thomas of Charlestown, Jack Pavia and his wife Nancy of Maryland, and Donna Gorman and her husband Michael of Randolph. She is the loving Nana to 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Dot is the loving aunt to Juanita and Bob Haas of Revere.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dot's Funeral on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown, followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Visiting hours are on Friday, September 19, 2014 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
