Ellen T. (Doris) O’Rourke, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at her home in Charlestown. She was 92 years old.

Ellen was born in Boston on May 15,1934, daughter of the late John E. Doris and Alice E. (Wilmot) Doris. Ellen was a Crossing Guard for the City of Boston; she also worked for many years at John Hancock in the food service department until her retirement. She later worked as a receptionist at the Constitution Inn in Charlestown. Ellen enjoyed spending time with her family, trips to Disney World, and playing Bingo with friends.

Ellen is the beloved wife of the late Joseph M. O'Rourke. Ellen is the devoted mother of Jack Wilkins and his wife Donna, Ellen Evers and her late husband Jim, Paul Wilkins and his wife Sharon, and Joseph Wilkins and his wife Gayle. She is loving Nana to Joseph, Michael, Justin, Brittany, Zachary, Heidi, Jaime, Max, Cody, Jesse and the late Jake and Evan. She is also survived by her 16 great grandchildren. Ellen is the devoted sister of retired Boston Police Detective John "Bud" Doris, retired Boston Police Detective Kathleen "Katie" Thornton, Brenda Dowd, retired Boston Police Captain Stephen Doris, Dennis Doris and the late Joan Tiernan, Donald Doris, Brian Doris, Carol Ryan, Kevin Doris and Maureen Kruger. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. She is the dear friend of Mary Boucher.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ellen's visiting hours on Thursday morning, August 6, 2026, from 10 A.M. to 12 Noon in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial will be private.
