Ellen M. “Ellie” (Allen) Houlihan a lifelong resident of Charlestown entered into eternal life on Sunday, August 23rd surrounded by loving family. Born in Boston on December 5 1956, daughter of the late Harold and Ellen (Casey) Allen.

Ellie worked for Dental Arts of Boston since 1989. She began as a dental assistant for 10 years until she transitioned to the office manager where she became family to MD George Stevens and his family. Loved by all staff and patients who met her. Ellie enjoyed trips to Treasure Island, FL and visiting her dear friend Kathy Kerrigan, going to the beach and shopping.

Family was the most important thing in Ellies life. Ellie was the devoted wife of John Houlihan. She was the loving mother of Kelly Smith and her husband David Smith, Kimberly Fitzpatrick, and Kerrin Houlihan. She was the stand in mom to Kerri Allen, a role she took on as promised to Kerri’s mom Helen. She is the loving nana to Declan Smith, Kiley Doris, and the late Steven Shea. She is the great grandmother of Coehyn Shea. She is the devoted sister of Mary Chaippa, Richie Allen and partner Nancy Sullivan, Harry (Sonny) Allen and his wife Brenda, John Allen and his wife Diane, Billy Allen, Tommy Allen and his wife Kerri, the late Paul Allen and Bobby Allen. Survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ellie's services were private.
