Obituary

Florence E. (Dockharty) Poole, a life long resident of Charlestown, died on Sunday, March 5, 2006, at the Lighthouse Care Center in Revere following a long illness. She was 86 years old.

Florence was born in Boston on June 15, 1919, and grew up in Charlestown where she attended Boston Public Schools and Charlestown High School. She worked for New England Telephone Company for 14 years as an operator and retired in 1990. Florence was also a homemaker.

Florence is the beloved wife of the late Samuel H. Poole. She is the devoted mother of Margaret Zarella and her husband Robert of Methuen, Samuel Poole and Sandra of Revere, Joanne Fitzgerald and her husband Thomas of Methuen, David Poole of Revere, Lorraine Sexton and her husband John of Everett, Steven Poole and Eileen of Winthrop, Ellie Foley and her husband Joseph of Charlestown, the late Ronald Poole and his wife Roberta of Charlestown. She is the loving grandmother of 16 grandchildren, the late Christina Poole and also her 18 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Hazel Cody of Revere.

At the request of Florence, her visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2006, from 4 - 8 p.m. in the Frank H. Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill Street, Charlestown. Her Funeral and burial will be strickly private.
