Obituary

Francis Domenick Hennessy a resident of Reading, and had lived in Melrose for a short time, died on Thursday May 11, 2006 at Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading following a long struggle with cancer. He was 79 years old.

Francis was born in County Cork, Ireland on August 7, 1926. He was the son of William D. and Margaret (O'Flaherty) Hennessy. He enlisted into the United States Navy on August 1, 1944 and served during World War 2. He was discharged on May 19, 1946 as a Machinist Mate Third Class. Francis worked for many years as a sheet metal worker for Raytheon Company.

Francis is survived by his 2 cousins, Dierdre Heron of Dublin, Ireland and Sr. Roberta O'Flaherty of Couva, Trinidad. He is also lovingly survived by many special friends from Reading and Melrose.

Francis's Funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 from The Carr Funeral Home 1159 Main St. Melrose at 8 am. followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church Herbert St. Melrose at 9 am. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Francis will be held on Monday afternoon from 2 to 4 pm. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
