Obituary

Genevieve E. (Martins) Kachoris-Veinot, of Charlestown and formerly of Chelsea and Somerville, died on Sunday May 11, 2008 at The North End Nursing Home in Boston following a lengthy illness. She was 92 years old.

Genevieve was born in Provincetown on October 24, 1915. She grew up in the West End section of Boston where she attended Boston Public Schools. Genevieve was a homemaker attentive to caring for her 7 children while they grew up.

Genevieve is the beloved wife of Basil L. Veinot. She is the devoted mother of Marianne Cotta of Florida, Joseph Kachoris of Michigan, John Kachoris of North Carolina, Genevieve Bessler of Oklahoma, Patricia Duscombre of New Hampshire, Joanne Deming of Chelsea and Thomas Kachoris of Tewksbury. She is the loving grandmother of 20 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is the sister of the late Marian Bedugnis.

Genevieve's Funeral Service will be held on Friday morning May 16, 2008 at 11 a.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are on Thursday May 15, 2008 from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
