Gerard J. “Jerry” Benoit, a lifelong resident of Charlestown and a proud Townie, entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. He was 80 years old.

Jerry is the devoted father of Jerry Benoit and his wife Katie, Gary Benoit and his wife Linda, Paul Saccardo, Tiffany Benoit-Smith and her husband William, Tamela Higginson, Tracy McKinney-Anderson and her husband Greg, and John Thomas Benoit and his wife Deirdre. He is the loving Papa of Dominic, Alexis, Victoria, Cain, Paul, Corin, Taylor, Tatum, Tia, Layla, Myles, Maxton, Asher, Lyra, Sophia, Ava, Lyla, Reya, Vienna, Enzo, and Arwen. He is the dear brother of Cece Emerson, and the late William Benoit, Paul Benoit, Winifred "Winnie" Anthony, and Pauline Davis. He is also survived by his dear friends Jerry McCormick and Joseph DiCato, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jerrys funeral on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown. His burial will be at New Calvary Cemetery in Mattapan. His visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M.
