Obituary

Gertrude M. Eckert, a resident of Wakefield for over 82 years, entered into eternal life on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at her home in Wakefield following an extended illness. She was 97 years old.

Gertrude was born in Kearny, New Jersey on September 8, 1915, a daughter of the late Otto Eckert and Margaret (Newton) Eckert. She grew up in Somerville where she attended Somerville elementary schools and then moved to Wakefield where she graduated from Wakefield High School in 1933. Gertrude worked for over 34 years as a Office Manager for Eastern Industrial Oil Company in Saugus.

Gertrude is the beloved daughter of the late Otto Eckert and Margaret (Newton) Eckert. She is the devoted sister of the late Newton H. Eckert, Dorothy Eckert and John Eckert. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and several dedicated neighbors.

At Gertrude's request her Funeral Services and burial at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield will be private.
