Obituary

Gloria (Cassettari) Castaldini, a resident of Reading and former longtime resident of Charlestown, died on Monday, February 13, 2012 at Milton Health Care Nursing Home in Milton following an extended illness. She was 87 years old.

Gloria was born in Boston on January 8, 1925 to the late Angelo and Italia (Francini) Cassettari. She grew up in Charlestown and attended the Boston Public School system. Gloria was a homemaker who dedicated herself to her husband and children.

Gloria is the beloved wife of 62 years to James Castaldini. She is the devoted mother of Lisa Truesdale and her husband Fred of Malden, Peter Castaldini of Norwood, James "Jay" Castaldini and his wife Rita of Nashua, New Hampshire and Gina Beliveau and her husband Mike of Winchester. She is the mother-in-law of Patricia Castaldini of Randolph. She is the loving Grammy to Stacey, Michael, Eric, Kristen, P.J., Kerri, Marita, Joanna, Michael and Christian. She is the sister of the late Leo and Aladino Cassettari.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Gloria's Funeral Mass on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown followed by interment at the Veterans Administration National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:30 pm. There are no visiting hours.
