Obituary

Harold C. Welsh, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Chelsea Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Nursing Home in Chelsea after a lengthy illness. He was 88 years old.

Harold was born in Boston on October 14, 1925, a son of the late Harold Welsh and Blanche (Gorham) Welsh. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School. He enlisted into the United States Army on January 27, 1944 and served his country with honor and pride during World War II. He was honorably discharged on April 30, 1946 with the rank of TEC 5. Harold worked many years for Walkers Riding Apparel on Tremont Street in Boston as a clerk.

Harold is the dear friend of Pauline O'Brien of Charlestown. He is the beloved cousin of Helen Welsh of Charlestown and the late Dorothy Baker and Catherine O'Brien.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Harold's Funeral Service on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 12 noon in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
