Ian J. Dillon, a resident of Charlestown and formerly of Winthrop, entered into eternal life unexpectedly on Monday, July 27, 2026 at the CHA Everett Hospital. He was 33 years old.

Ian was born in Melrose on November 6, 1992, a son of Julia (Hormann) Dillon and the late John Dillon Jr. He grew up in Winthrop where he was educated in the Winthrop Public School system and Winthrop High School. Ian touched countless lives with his generous heart and compassionate spirit, dedicating his career as a call center specialist for addiction treatment, supporting families in their most challenging moments. His remarkable talent for making others feel valued and important was a testament to his character. To Ian, family and friends were everything, and while his circle was small, his affection for those within it was boundless. Known for his dedication and commitment, when Ian set his mind to something, he gave it his all. His legacy of kindness and friendship endures in the hearts of the many who loved him.

Ian is the beloved son of Julia (Hormann) Dillon and the late John Dillon Jr. He is the loving brother of the late Ciaran J. Dillon. He is the dear grandson of John M. Dillon, Eileen (Murray) Dillon, Birgit Hormann, and Lenny Shea. He is survived by his beloved fiancé Bella Frayne, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ian's funeral on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, gathering at 9 A.M. from the Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. His visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
