Obituary

Irene T. "Rene" (McGonagle) Reeder, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at the North End Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Boston. She was 93 years old.

Rene was born in Boston on February 7, 1927, a daughter of the late Edward McGonagle and Mary (Cavanaugh) McGonagle. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system. Rene worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Geriatrics field. She loved to sing and dance, listen to both Irish and Country & Western music, and to cook.

Rene is the beloved wife of the late George E. Reeder. She is the devoted mother of George Jr., Irene and her husband Paul, Mary Dacey, Richard and his wife Lisa, and the late John, Rhonda, and David Reeder. She is the loving grandmother to 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Anna DiDomenico, Veronica "Ronnie" Boyden, and the late Edward McGonagle, David McGonagle, Catherine "Goo" Powers, and Frances Campbell. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
