James M. "Jim" Evers Sr., a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was 60 years old.

Jim was born in Somerville on November 18, 1965, a son of the late Edward J. "Red" Evers and Mary E. "Lady" (McGoff) Evers. He grew up in Charlestown and was educated at St. John's Parochial School in Cambridge and graduated from Matignon High School in Cambridge in 1984. Jim furthered his education and received his associate's degree from Northeastern University. Jim enlisted into the United States Air Force on March 5, 1985, and served his country with honor and pride as a jet mechanic and crew chief. He was honorably discharged on October 30, 1992, with the rank of Sergeant. Jim worked as an I.T. Specialist in the software technology business for over 25 years. Jim was an avid Boston sports fan for all the professional teams; he was a proud "Parkie", a member of the Medford/Malden Elks Lodge and enjoyed listening to his Irish rebel music.

Jim is the loving husband of 33 years to Margaret A. "Peggy" (Brennan) Evers. He is the devoted father of Mary Margaret Evers, James M. Evers Jr., Patrick Evers and his partner Jace McPherson and Brendan Evers. He is the beloved brother of Edward J. Evers Jr. and his wife Kathy, Michael Evers and his wife Maureen, Joseph Evers and his wife Holly, John "Butch" Evers and his wife Maureen, Mary Ellen Egan and her husband Dan, Kathleen Ellard and her husband James and Daniel Evers. He is the brother-in-law of James Brennan Jr. and his wife Marybeth. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
