Obituary

Gallagher, James (Jimmy) Robert, of Charlestown, formerly of the South End, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on November 6, 2018.

He is survived by Kate Kane Gallagher and loving children, Kane Gallagher and his wife Kate (Bongiolatti) Gallagher of Charlestown, Corinne (Gallagher) Fador and her husband, Jonathan Fador, of Charlestown, and Leah (Gallagher) Huber and her husband, Gregory Huber of Somerville. Proud grandfather to Luke James Fador, Kellan Andrew Fador, and Rowan Catherine Gallagher. Also survived by long-time family friend, Diane Shaw and many loving family members and friends including his brothers, Richard Perry, David Perry, John Pacino and his wife Karen Pacino. Loving grandson to the late Pauline ("Mim") Sutherland and the late James Sutherland and son of the late Marlene Perry of the South End.

Jimmy enjoyed a long career, working for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and served in the Army Reserves for eight years. In recent years, after retiring, Jimmy spent time with family in both Boston and West Dover, Vermont. Throughout his life, he actively pursued his hobbies of skiing, kayaking, hiking, sailing, tennis, motorcycle/car collecting, and was an avid sports fan.

Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren Street, Charlestown, on November 12, 2018, at 10 a.m., followed by a reception to celebrate his life.
