Obituary

James M. "Jimmy" Murphy Jr., a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Monday, May 1, 2023. He was 37 years of age.

Jimmy was born in Cambridge on October 3, 1985, a son of Valerie (Brosnahan) Murphy and James M. Murphy. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School System. He enjoyed playing Charlestown Pop Warner Football. Jimmy worked as a union carpenter and was a member of Carpenters Union Local #328 and was an aspiring barber. He loved life and spending time with his children. He enjoyed drawing in his spare time.

Jimmy is the loving father of Aislynn Dole and McKenzi Murphy. He is the beloved son of Valerie (Brosnahan) Murphy and James M. Murphy. He is the devoted brother of Sean O'Halloran. He is the dear grandson of Suzanne (LaPrise) Brosnahan and the late Eugene "Geno" Brosnahan, and the late John Murphy and Mary (Gochakowski) Murphy. He is the caring boyfriend of Brittney Goldberg. He is also survived by his many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jimmy's visiting hours on Sunday, May 7, 2023 from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. with his Funeral Service at 4:30 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will be private.
