Obituary

James A. Santos, A lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following an extended illness. He was 72 years old.

Jim was born in Boston on February 5, 1938 to the late Manuel and Sarah (Callahan) Santos. He grew up in Charlestown and attended Boston Public Schools. He enlisted into the United States Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Conflict. Jim worked as a foreman for many years at Freeman Decorating in Braintree.

Jim is the beloved husband of Joanne M. (McNevin) Santos. He is the beloved brother of the late Manuel Santos. He is the brother-in-law of Judith Johnson of Charlestown and Margaret Smith and her husband William of Medford. He is the loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours for Jim on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Funeral Services and burial are private.
