Jean M. "Auntie Jean" Lynch, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, May 1, 2020 at Massachusetts General Hospital due to Covid-19. She was 86 years of age.
Jean was born in Boston on April 7, 1934, a daughter of the late Edward W. Lynch and Catherine F. (Creedon) Lynch. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended St. Catherine's Parochial School and graduated from Girls High School. Jean worked as an assembler for Sylvania Electric for many years. Jean was a woman who took care of her family. She loved traveling to Nova Scotia and Ireland. She was an avid Boston Bruins and Red Sox fan. She also loved listening to Irish Music. Jean was a member of the Daughter's of Isabella #1.
Jean is the beloved daughter of the late Edward W. Lynch and Catherine F. (Creedon) Lynch. She loving sister of John J. "Jake" Lynch, Catherine Freeman, and the late Edward W. Lynch Jr. (Ret. BFD). Jean was more than just a sister-in-law but a best friend to Alice Lynch and the late Claire Lynch. She is the devoted "Auntie Jean" to Cheryl and Danny, Sharon, Michele and Anthony, Marytheresa, Erin, Liam, Colin, Allison, Kaileigh, Mark, Riann, Billy, Jean, Dennis and Kerry.
Jean's family would like to thank the amazing caretakers Carol and Matt, and all other healthcare workers at the Courtyard Nursing Home. They would also like to thank the doctors, nurses, and other staff on Ellison 18 at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, JEAN'S FUNERAL SERVICES AND BURIAL AT WOODLAWN CEMETERY IN EVERETT WILL BE PRIVATE.
