Obituary

John P. Giannino, a 4 year resident of Melrose and formerly of Malden and Charlestown, entered into eternal life unexpectedly on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was 74 years of age.

John was born in Boston on October 2, 1948, a son of the late Marion T. (Richard) Giannino and John P. Giannino. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated throughout the Boston Public School system. John worked in the Food Service Industry as a Chef for many years. In his spare time, John enjoyed playing pool, cribbage, cards, scrabble and watching the Boston Celtics.

John is the beloved husband of 25 years to Mary F. (McComiskey) Giannino. He is the devoted brother of Paul Giannino, Anthony Giannino and his wife Alice, Robert Giannino and his wife Polinaria, the late Mark Giannino and Diane Wirtz. He is the beloved brother-in-law of Rita Boyden, Clare Senna, Margaret McComiskey and the late John McComiskey and Sid McComiskey. He is the loving uncle to Sharon and Larry Sullivan, Jeanne and Kevin Chambers, Cathy Boyden, Mark and Heidi Boyden, Bobby Boyden and his many other nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's visiting hours on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 from 3 P.M. to 6 P.M. with his Funeral Service at 5:30 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial is private.
