John W. Lynch, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at The Chelsea Soldiers Home in Chelsea following a lengthy illness. He was 93 years old.
John was born in Boston on November 25, 1919, a son of the late Joseph Lynch and Mary (Maloney) Lynch. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended the Boston Public School system. John enlisted into the United States Navy on September 10, 1943 and served his country honorably and proudly during World War II. He was discharged on March 2, 1946 with the rank of Electrician's Mate, Second Class. John worked for many years as an electrician at the Boston Naval Shipyard in Charlestown.
John is the beloved husband of Dorothy A. Mahar. He is the beloved brother of the late Edward "Sonny" Lynch, Joseph "Chick" Lynch and Mary Marazzi. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
John's Funeral Services will be private.
