Obituary

John J. McAteer, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died suddenly on Friday, June 25, 2010 at Maine Medical Center in South Portland, Maine. He was 30 years old.

John was born in Boston and grew up in Charlestown where he attended Boston Public Schools. John had been working several jobs in the Portland, Maine area.

John is the beloved son of the late Thomas and Catherine (Looney) McAteer. He is the devoted brother of Thomas McAteer of Maine, Dennis McAteer of Maine, Margaret Kelly and her husband George of Charlestown and Michael McAteer and his wife Alina of Charlestown. He is the loving boyfriend of Kim McDonough.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's Funeral on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. Cremation will take place following the funeral mass.
