Obituary

John E. Scadding, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River following a very brief battle with lung cancer. He was 55 years of age.

John was born in Somerville on May 16, 1968, a son of the late Charles R. Scadding and Mary F. (Leeman) Scadding. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School System and graduated from Charlestown High School. John worked several jobs throughout his life but most recently at a Boiler Fireman. He was an avid Boston Sports Fan, and enjoyed both fishing and camping in his spare time.

John is the loving son of the late Charles R. Scadding and Mary F. (Leeman) Scadding. He is the beloved brother of Joe Scadding, Cathy LaKing, Mary Murphy, Christine Lee, and the late Jimmy Scadding, Susan Scadding, Barry Scadding, and Bobby Scadding. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He is the dear companion of Andrea Holden.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's visiting hours on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. with his Funeral Service starting at 6:30 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hil St. Charlestown. His burial will be private.
