Obituary

Joseph F. Noonan, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, passed into eternal life on Friday, April 6, 2012 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a 2 month illness with leukemia. He was 75 years old.

Joe was born in Charlestown on February 11, 1937 to the late Joseph M. and Mary (Harrington) Noonan. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended St. Mary's Parochial School and Charlestown High School. Joe worked for over 40 years on the Boston waterfront as a dock worker for the Longshoreman's Union in Charlestown and South Boston.

Joe is the beloved son of the late Joseph M. Noonan and Mary (Harrington) Noonan. He is the devoted brother of Patricia A. "Patti" Noonan of Charlestown. He is also survived by many loving cousins. He is the dear friend of Dan Mehigan of Charlestown and his many dear friends at Hennessey's and Paddy O's.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Joe's Funeral on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m.
