Joseph O. "Joe" Venezia, a 20 year resident of Revere and formerly of Cambridge and Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, September 4, 2026 in his home. He was 83 years old.

Joe was born in Boston on January 2, 1943, a son of the late Raffaele E. Venezia and Agnes T. (Hayes) Venezia. He grew up in Charlestown, where he was educated in the Boston Public School System. Joe enlisted into the United States Army on October 4, 1961, and was honorably discharged on October 3, 1963 with the rank of Private First Class. He worked as a shipper and receiver for Cambridge City Hospital for over 15 years. Joe enjoyed gardening and being a handyman around his home. He was a member of the Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association.

Joe is the beloved husband of 43 years of Joyce E. (Doughty) Venezia. He is the dear Papa to his children Paula Raftery, Laurie Jackson, April Asaro, Cindy and her husband Bobby Tavares, Kenneth Jackson, the late Steven Raftery, and to his grandchildren Samantha and her husband Daniel, Eddy, Michael, Christopher, Ashley, Steven, Makayla, and his great-grandchildren Leyah, Kaylee, Dominic, Camden, Carter, and his other great-grandchildren. He is the dear brother of retired Boston Fire Department Captain Alfred "Fred" Venezia and his wife Peggy, Frank Venezia, Mary Ellen Venezia, and the late late Ralph Venezia, Rose M. Gochakowski and her husband Ronald, and John Venezia. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Joe's visiting hours on Friday morning, September 11, 2026 from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 12 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
