Joseph F. Vraibel, Jr., of Charlestown, died unexpectedly at his home in Charlestown on Wednesday, February 8, 2006. He was 71 years old.
Joe was born in Boston on September 4, 1934, and grew up in Dorchester where he attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Commerce High School. He moved to Charlestown in 1953. Joe worked as a truck driver for Lechemere Sales Company in Cambridge for over 32 years and was a member of Teamsters Union Local #25. He was also very active and Past President of the Charlestown Youth Hockey Association.
Joe is the beloved husband of the late Geraldine M. (Beasley) Vraibel. He is the devoted father of Joseph F., III, and his wife Linda of North Carolina, Robert W. and his wife Paula of Dorchester, Richard and his wife Barbara of Malden, Marianne Walles and her husband Kevin of Charlestown and William P. and his wife Christine of Charlestown. He is the loving grandfather of 12 grandfather. Joe is the beloved brother of Paul Vraibel and his wife Sally of Bourne.
Joe's Funeral will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2006, at 9:00 a.m. from the Frank H. Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill Street, Charlestown, followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill Street, Charlestown, at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting Hours for Joe will be held on Friday, February 10, 2006, from 3 – 8 p.m. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
