Judith A. "Judy" Hayes, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a 3-year battle with cancer. She was 71 years old.

Judy was born in Cambridge on February 7, 1955, a daughter of the late Joseph D. Hayes and Janice M. (Cheschi) Hayes. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended St. Catherine's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1972. Judy worked as a Financial Bond Trader for 49 years, first with Merril Lynch and later with Cantella Company Inc. both located in Boston. She enjoyed visiting the casino and being a member of the Somerville City Club and Old Charlestown Schoolgirls Association.

Judy is the loving daughter of the late Joseph D. Hayes and Janice M. (Cheschi) Hayes. She is the dear sister of Jane Porter and her husband Joseph, Joseph Hayes Jr. and his wife Linda, Janet Lawton, Joanne Suprey, and James Hayes and his wife Janet. She is the sister-in-law of Joan Hayes. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews, her dear friends Rosie Campbell, Arthur Pelton, and her dear and longtime devoted butterflies.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Judy's funeral on Monday, August 24, 2026 at 10 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 A.M. in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Her visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026 from 2 P.M. to 6 P.M. in the funeral home.
