Obituary

Karen A. (Barker) Spencer, a 27 year resident of Everett and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She was 50 years old.

Karen was born in Boston on September 8, 1964, a daughter of Helen M. (Kirk) Barker and the late Robert T. Barker. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Julie Billiart High School in the North End of Boston in 1983. Karen was a homemaker most of her adult life and was never shy when telling a good joke.

Karen is the beloved wife of 27 years to George C. Spencer Jr. She is the devoted mother of George C. Spencer III of Everett and Brian R. Spencer of Everett. She is the loving daughter of Helen M. (Kirk) Barker of Everett and the late Robert T. Barker. She is the beloved sister of Kathleen Barker of Everett. She is the daughter-in-law of George C. Spencer and Rita (Punch) Spencer of Everett and sister-in-law of Cheryl LaMonte and her husband Robert and Stephen Spencer. She is the Godmother to Lauren Woodworth. She is also the loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Karen's Funeral on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 5 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
