Karen Connolly, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 63 years of age.
Karen was born in Boston on May 13, 1963, a daughter of the late John J. Connolly and Fern (Titcomb) Connolly. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Julia Billiart High School in the North End of Boston in 1981. Karen's love for animals was immense in her life, and she devoted herself to caring for many dogs and cats in Charlestown where she had her own dog grooming business. She even went to such extremes where she would make costumes for her dogs on every holiday. In her spare time, Karen enjoyed baking and cooking especially around the holidays and also doing arts and crafts.
Karen is the beloved daughter of the late John J. Connolly and Fern (Titcomb) Connolly. She is the devoted sister of Paula Prince and her husband Richard, Jo-Ann Connolly-White, John J. Connolly Jr. and his wife Lorrinda and the late Michael J. Connolly and Fern Connolly. She is the loving aunt to Richie, Katie, Ryan, MacKenzie, E.J., Eric and Fern Rose. She is also lovingly survived by her dogs Missy and Butch and her cats Gidget and Biscuit.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Karen's visiting hours on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial will be private.
