Obituary

Kathleen M. "Kathy" (Cummings) Whalen, a 15 year resident of Revere and formerly of Melrose and Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at her home in Revere. She was 69 years of age.

Kathy was born in Boston on October 18, 1953, a daughter of the late Claire (Nickerson) Norton and Joseph Norton. She grew up in Charlestown, where she attended St. Catherine's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School. She worked for 10 years as a secretary for Mass. Eye and Ear. Kathy's greatest joy in life was spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

Kathy is the beloved mother of Shauna Connors and her husband Gerard, Kerin Martin and her fiancé Jon Snook, and the late Kelley Whalen and Allison Sargent. She is the loving Nana of Alexandria, Lauren, Lindsay, Gianna, Ryan, Giovanna, and Brady. She is the longtime companion of the late Kevin Martin. She is the dear sister of Margaret "Peggy" Cummings, and the late Michael Kachuk and John Cummings. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kathy's Visiting Hours on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial will be private.
