Obituary

Kenneth P. "Kenny" Woods, a resident of Melrose and formerly of Medford and Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. He was 62 years old.

Kenny was born in Boston on February 25, 1955, a son of the late Frank Connolly and Claire V. (Peyton) . He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Newman Prep High School in 1973. He furthered his education at Fitchburg State College. Kenny enlisted into the United States Coast Guard on September 20, 1976 and served his country faithfully and with pride. He was honorably discharged on April 1, 1983 with the rank Seaman. Kenny worked as a Clerk for the United States Postal Service for over 20 years.

Kenny is the father of Michael Woods and Carol Ann Woods. He is the brother of Carol (Woods) McCormick. Kenny was the longtime partner of Sheila Gendreau. He is the dear nephew of the late Gertrude Connolly.

Kenny's Funeral Services and burial at the Veterans Administration National Cemetery in Bourne will be private.
