Obituary

Lee J. Winters, a lifelong resident of Wakefield, died on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Cambridge following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 51 years old.

Lee was born in Boston on August 3, 1960 to the late Ivan L. "Bud" and Ethel M. (Hart) Winters. He grew up in Wakefield where he attended Wakefield Public Schools, graduated from Wakefield High School in 1978 and attended Wentworth Institute. Lee worked for several years at the family business which was Winters Bike Shop on Main Street in Wakefield. He later worked as an installer for a H.V.A.C. company. Lee enjoyed playing the guitar and was involved with a local band. He also enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.

Lee is the beloved husband of 11 years to Tamara "Tammy" (Helein) Winters. He is the loving brother of Shirley Hubbard and her husband Arthur Jr. of Wakefield. He is the devoted uncle of Cathy Olson and her husband Chris and their children Christopher and Ashlyn of Wakefield and Adam Hubbard and his wife Kimm of Stoughton.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Lee's Funeral Service on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 10 a.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St. Wakefield/Melrose line. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield. Visiting hours will be on Friday, August 26, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m.
