Linda J. (Keegan) Podolsky, a lifelong resident of Wakefield, died on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at The Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a two year courageous battle with breast cancer. She was 51 years old.
Linda was born in Malden on July 13, 1957. She grew up in Wakefield, where she attended Wakefield Public Schools and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1975. Linda worked for Hallmark Health at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose as an administrative secretary for more than 18 years. She also worked at Wakefield Co-Operative Bank in Wakefield several years ago. Linda's main concern in her adult life was loving and nurturing her children along with caring for her husband.
Linda is the beloved wife of 32 years to Neil R. Podolsky. She is the devoted mother of Jonathan S. Podolsky and his wife Kristen of Maynard and Leah J. Podolsky of Wakefield. She is the adored daughter of Joan T. (Gould) Keegan of Stoneham and the late James M. Keegan. She is the loving sister of Donna DiDonato of Reading, Colleen Keegan of Santa Barbara, California, Eileen LeBlanc of Grafton, Anne Marie Keegan Peck of Sudbury, Shauna Keegan of Stoneham and the late Cathleen and Christine Keegan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to the family of Linda on Thursday, June 4, 2009, from 4 to 7 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service for Linda at 7 p.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main Street, Wakefield/Melrose line. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Carr Funeral Home 1159 Main St. Wakefield/Melrose line on Friday morning June 5, 2009 at 11 a.m. Linda's cremains will be buried at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, kindly make memorial donations in Linda's name to The American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or Hospice of The North Shore, 75 Sylvan Street, Danvers, MA 01923.
