Obituary

Margaret K. "Betty" (Johnson) Fogarty, a resident of Wakefield for more than 50 years, died unexpectedly at her home in Wakefield on Wednesday, December 22, 2010. She was 96 years old.

Betty was born in Calgary, Canada, on May 5, 1914 to the late James and Katherine Johnson. She grew up in Lawrence where she attended St. Patrick's Parochial School and graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Lawrence. She worked for over 20 years in the accounts payable department for Gilchrists Stores in Boston.

Betty is the beloved wife of the late Edmund J. Fogarty. She is the devoted mother of Patricia M. Hunt and her husband Michael of Wakefield and Mary Ann Holt and her husband Wiley of Hampton, New Hampshire. She is the loving Nana to Christopher, Amy, Patrick, Patricia Lee, the late Thomas and her great-grandaughter; Ella.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Betty's Funeral Mass on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at 10 a.m. in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main Street, Wakefield. Burial is private. There are no visiting hours.
