Margaret M. O'Connell, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Leonard Florence Center for Living in Chelsea. She was 86 years of age.
Margaret was born in Somerville on December 23, 1937, a daughter of the late William O'Connell and Agnes L. (Carney) O'Connell. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Mount St. Joseph High School in Brighton. Margaret furthered her education and received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Regis College and then attended Fordham University where she received her Master's Degree. Margaret was a lifelong educator and worked for many years as a Chemistry Teacher at Brockton High School. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping and conquering sudoku puzzles. She was a member of The Old Charlestown Schoolgirls Association.
Margaret is the beloved daughter of the late William O'Connell and Agnes L. (Carney) O'Connell. She is the devoted sister of Kathleen "Kathy" Devlin and William O'Connell Jr. She is the loving aunt to Kelleigh Devlin, Kerrie Devlin, the late Colleen Devlin and is also lovingly survived by her beloved great-nice Kathleen Sullivan and great-nephew Jimmy Libby.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Margaret's visiting hours on Thursday morning, November 14, 2024, from 9 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. Her burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
