Obituary

Margaret M. "Peggy" (Grace) Bellissimo, R.N. a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Monday, July 10, 2023, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 77 years of age.

Margaret was born in Boston on December 22, 1945, a daughter of the late Anthony Grace and Nora (Hurley) Grace. She grew up in Charlestown and was educated at Cardinal Cushing Parochial School and graduated from Cardinal Cushing High School. Margaret furthered her education and received her Nursing Degree from Somerville Hospital School of Nursing. She also attended LaSalle University and received her master's degree in education. She worked as a Nurse at Somerville Hospital in the infectious control unit for many years. Following her retirement from nursing, Margaret began a career in teaching and taught at the Clarence R. Edwards Middle School in Charlestown from 1997 to 2003 and also at the Lewis School from 2003 to 2006. In her spare time, Margaret enjoyed her quiet time being spent in Rockland, Maine.

Margaret is the beloved wife of 53 years to Nelson S. Bellissimo. She is the devoted mother of Maggie Bresnihan and her husband Michael, and Boston Police Officer Anthony "Tony" Bellissimo and his wife Jennifer. She is the loving Nanny to Maddie, Bella, Kylie and Natalie. She is the sister of Charles Grace. She is also survived by her beloved dog Mia.
