Obituary

Margaret A. "Peggy" (Heffernan) Gorrell, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Monday, March 27, 2017 at her home in Charlestown. She was 78 years of age.

Peggy was born in Boston on December 31, 1938, a daughter of the late George M. Heffernan and Mary R. (McLaughlin) Heffernan. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system. Peggy worked as a cook for American Food Systems for 20 years.

Peggy is the devoted mother of Patricia Firicano and her husband Robert of Clayton, N.C. She is the loving Nana of Richard Holmes of Attleboro, and to her 5 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Rosemarie King of Charlestown, Catherine Heffernan of Woburn, the late Georgina Lenzi, and the late Mary "Fifi" Goodrich and her surviving husband Butch . She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Peggy's visiting hours on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. followed by her funeral service at 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Her burial is private.
