Obituary

Mary J. "Angel" Coffey a resident of Charlestown for many years, died at her home in Charlestown on Saturday May 6, 2006 following an extended illness. She was 85 years old.

Mary was born on County Cork, Ireland and moved to Charlestown where she attended St. Catherine's School and graduated from Girl's High School in Boston. She served as a salesperson for Jordan Marsh Department Store in Boston from 1948 until her retirement in 1983.

Mary was the beloved niece of the late Mary O'Connell and Patrick J. Ryan. She is the devoted cousin of Anne Regan and her husband Tom, Christina M. Ryan all of Charlestown, Rev. Patrick Ryan S.J. of Boston College and the late John and Joseph Ryan. Mary is also survived by several grandnieces and grandnephews.

Mary's Funeral will be held on Tuesday May 9, 2006 from the Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 9 am. followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Catherine's Church 49 Vine St. Charlestown at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Mary will be held on Monday May 8, 2006 from 4 to 8 pm. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
