Obituary

Mary P. "Patsy" Sullivan, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at her home in Charlestown following an extended illness. She was 90 years old.

Patsy was born in Boston on July 26, 1924, a daughter of the late Patrick Sullivan and Mary (Coleman) Sullivan. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School. Patsy worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone Company for over 40 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Patsy dedicated herself to the needs of others and was a foster grandparent for Catholic Charities for many years.

Patsy is the devoted sister of the late Rita Gautreau and Leo Sullivan. She is the loving aunt to Patty and Ed Callahan of Charlestown, Louise and Frank Callahan of Charlestown, Michael and Ilene Gautreau of Wilmington, Kathy Kreatz of Medford, Maureen Hayes of Medford, Carolyn Sullivan of Medford, Nancy O'Connor of Stoneham and her many grandnieces and grandnephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Patsy's Funeral on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Burial at New Calvary Cemetery in Mattapan. Visiting hours Monday 4 - 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
