Obituary

Mary Patricia Shanahan (formerly Sr. Mary Patrick, Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent De Paul) passed away at The Sawtell Hospice House in Reading on Monday, August 3, 2015. She was 74 years old. Mary was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts on June 10, 1941 a daughter of the late Patrick Shanahan and Mary (McLaughlin) Shanahan.

Mary was an elementary school teacher and administrator for over forty years, serving in the Southern Province of Virginia and North Carolina and also the Diocese of Albany, New York and the Archdiocese of Boston. She will be lovingly missed by her family and many friends.

She leaves behind her beloved sister Margery LeDuc and her husband Ralph LeDuc of Middleton, her nieces Mary Hull Mallory and husband Michael of Avon, Indiana, Kathleen (LeDuc) Gillis and her husband Fred of Newmarket, New Hampshire, James LeDuc and his wife Kristen of Merrimac, Massachusetts, and her six grandnieces and grandnephews, Colin and Seamus LeDuc, Elise Gillis, Ashley and Tyler Hull and Elijah Mallory.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary's Memorial Mass on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 11 AM at St. Agnes Church 22 Boston St. Middleton, MA 01949.
