MaryEllen (Troy) Venezia, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, October 3, 2026 following an extended illness. She was 81 years old.

MaryEllen was born in Medford on May 23, 1945, a daughter of the late James Troy and Mary (Williams) Troy. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School System and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1963. MaryEllen worked as a banker for Bank of New England for 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and Irish Step Dancing.

MaryEllen is the devoted mother of Joel Venezia and his wife Deanna, Jason Venezia and his wife Kristen, and Amanda Mulligan and her husband James. She is the beloved Nana of Isabella, Aidan, Brooke, Angelina, Lincoln, and Harrison. She is the wife of Francis "Frank" Venezia. She is the dear sister of Paul Troy and the late Eileen Merritt and Patricia Kelly.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend MaryEllen's visiting hours on Sunday, October 11, 2026 from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M., concluding with a prayer service at 1 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial will be private.
